Our family’s favorite holiday is definitely the 4th of July. Every year we travel to my home town in Oregon. It’s green and lush so most of the time fire works are not prohibited — good for us! As a child I always loved fireworks and especially sparklers. Sparklers are the “old school” fireworks of our pasts. After the festivities had past, I was the mom picking up the debris. I began to see this debris much differently, beautiful in its own way. All charred, but each firework had a sparkly memory behind it. I wanted to memorialize the time of year, the summer, the thrill. After two years I amassed enough sparklers to create that memory.
